Seen them yesterday. Similar images elsewhere.
Should be interesting to see what they come up with on these to models. Neither of them replace the current one, so adds to the hum factor. If Olympus doesn't get a Foveon sensor in theirs, perhaps one of these will have a Foveon sensor, since rumors are "some" camera other than Sigma is getting it... |

Hi there
Was told that the new Pro camera would not have a ff snesor, but they showed both cameras ( the Pro and advanced amature) with the line of Zeiss lenses and they looked like they could do full frame. As for the Foveon sensor Fuji and Sigma teamed up and Fuji or Fujist a sub company of Fuji devoloped a sensor that will piggy back the Foveon to give it better results. As for Nikon I done see them staying with Sony now that Sony has their own line. As for Olympus you may see a improved Foveon sensor in the P1 or a very improved Panasonic sensor. I talk to a lot of peope at PMA and Sony has said they will over take Nikon. They have the Minolta mount, the Minolta maxxum 9 body and the Zeiss lenses to go with their new cameras and their prices will be lower, way lower, they make the sensor and a lot of other componets for Nikon. I found out Sony makes 80% of all the compoents for all the camera companies and that Nikon is paying Canon royalties for the IS system their using, it's a Canon's patient. It's going to get very interesting before Christmas. If Nikon were to use the Foveon sensor that would shoot Sigma out of the water. If a company uses the Foveon sensor and can make it work they'll blow Sigma out of the water. The SD14 is $1600 way to much. Later Roger |
