It's an acceptable pocket cam. This photo looks better on the phone, and that might be due to it being uploaded from the phone directly into Flickr. It's not as saturated as the shot on the phone. The main downside is the iPhone has no controls, so its like a digital pocket Holga. You get what you get.

Here's another one I just took at lunch today. Uploaded straight into Flickr from the iPhone.

That looks very nice indeed. It seems to retain highlights nicely and looks pretty naturalistic in colour and contrast. Have you tried printing one out at any reasonable size? Say A4/8x10?

I printed both out as 8 x 10s with minimal pp-ing in Lightroom, then printed them with Qimage. They print at 135 ppi, so there is loss of detail for sure, but they aren't bad for a 2 mp camera phone. At 4 x 6 they look as good as any 2 MP point and shoot.

I did some research and the iPhone does use a plastic lens, so it is an iHolga!

Here are some of my favorite cell phone pics... first one is my daughter with her head stuck in a chair at one of our favorite restaurants... second one is an extreme close-up of her... third one, playing with hats... fourth one, a rainbow that went across the road I was on (it was a complete rainbow, I got a pic of both sides)... fifth one is a neighbor, I loved how she was looking through the bubble at the camera!... and the last one is just a nice sunset that I wanted to capture but didn't have my "real" camera with me!

Dianna, these are great. They have that spontaneity that you often don't get with 'deliberate' captures.

I notice the thread is quite old, but here is one taken with a Nokia N73 in close-up mode. (In December 2006). Things move so quickly now, I guess the latest phones will do this much better...

You can bluetooth it to your computer (what phone/puter do you have?)

Interesting shot nicoc. Looks like you can get some nice macro/closeup effects with these cameraphones these days.

Install the software that came with your phone on your PC, connect your phone to it too, and start up the software.
OR you can use Bluetooth to transfer photos from your phone to your PC?
