Default Sigma 120-300 OS & 2TC

Hello folks,

Anyone have one and have used it with a 2xTC.

I am a canon boy and want a 600mm lens, however I would have to give a kidney away for a 300 2.8 prime & 2xTC and you never know i might need it one day.

This could be an alternative but would need to work OK.

Any views would be great

Cheers

Rob

here is photo of the lens on a canon body using a kenko tc
Sigma 120-300/2.8 OS HSM + Kenko DGX Pro 2.0x on EOS 7D | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

he uses a 7D
don't konw what canon body you would like to use it on .

With what i know from tc's is that there is a quality difference , with high class tc's (expensive ones) there is less change of image hunting on high zoom ranges then there ussually is with the cheaper ones

Probably with a 2.8 you end up getting a 4.0 with a tc 2 so there is always a change of light focus hunting

Just Google it! But be wary of whom is doing the review there is lots of prejudices results when it comes to third party lenses!

IMO!

+1 i would check customer reviews and pro (paid) reviews
When you are up to what you want try to rent it for a weekend and see if it is for you what you think you are going to use it for ..

it would be sorry to spend a lot of cash not knowing if you are going to happy after all

B&H has customer reviews for (almost) all of their products. Some lenses are quite thorough.

User reviews are important to me , perhaps more than paid professional reviews
