Default Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 IF DG HSM on D7000

Does anyone have experience of this combo?

Will much appreciate a feedback. I am looking at alternatives because I cannot afford the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 and the Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4 has a variable aperture!

Sage advice will be really appreciated! Thanks!

I had an opportunity to briefly use the 24-70mm EX DG HSM lens on my Sigma SD15. It was very sharpo and the auto-focus was fiast and accurate. Since you are using an APS-C sensor camera, I suggest you consider the Sigma 17-50mm EX DG lens. A 24-70mm lens may not be wide enough for you with an APS-C camera. A 17-50mm is about the same field-of-view that a 24-70mm lens gives you on a full-frame camera.

I have used that lens on both my D7000 and D800 it is a very high quality lens. I am very happy with it.

The point made earlier re whether it is wide enough I overcame on my D7000 by carrying a sigma 10-20.

I made a decision when shooting crop sensor to only buy Fx lenses a decision I am really happy with now I only have two Dx size lenses.

I have it mounted on my Canon 7D and I have yet to find any flaws what so ever. It performs great in ever category from focusing to sharpness.
