Hey Jim just read a review on the OS version and it received a favorable response through Sigma AF 150mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM APO Macro OS (Canon EOS) - APS-C Review / Test Report Thought you may find the read interesting and helpful if your still in the market. The test reveals quirks that can be found on almost any lens. Basically small things that most photographers would never be concerned with.

Thanks for that! I've been awaiting a review of the 150 OS as I'm contemplating an upgrade of my 105 and 150 to IS or OS. The Canon 100 IS manages only 2 stops at macro distances so I'm certainly unsurprised the Sigma 150 OS is 2 stops as well. Pricewise, they seem pretty much on par - which, to me, puts the Sigma ahead (much prefer the Sigma 105 and 150 to the Canon 100 non-IS) - 150 preferred over 100 every time!

The 150mm is a great lens to begin with but I really like its performance when adding a 12mm tube which adds extreme measures to an already tight perspective. My only regrets is I just don't use it enough as I would like. Tiny spiders look like monsters for foes against Godzilla which my twins of 12 find amusing.

Agreed..... and in most cases you have the option of turning the OS off.

Thanks for the link guys, and much appreciated. Very helpful and will definitely be going for the OS version now, hopefully around the end of Jan.

Just placed an order for the OS version. Now have to sit and wait for UPS - patience is a wonderful thing, but not when your waiting for a new toy.
