My HP Deskjet 720C printer has a black cartridge and a separate color cartridge with cyan, yellow, and magenta inks. I was just wondering if others consistently ran out of yellow first as I do.

i have a dye-sub printer hi-touch 730PS - so it does not run out of a colour as it uses a ribbon
but when I had a canon it tended to be yellow and the photo colours as i had 6 seperate catridges |

Interesting how different everyone's ink usage is. With the Epson 4000 I go through light magenta first, then light cyan and then yellow.

If you print a lot of light colored photos you will run out of yellow first as yellow is used to lighten a print, on the other side if you print a lot of darker colored photo's your color that you will run out of is cyan as that is the color responsible for darkening a print.

Mine... with all the concert and artist shots, I run out of Photo Black and Matte Black first, then Magenta, Cyan and yellow... in that order. Gloss Optimizer I have only changed twice since I purchased the Epson 1800.

In order: Cyan, Mag, yellow, gloss with an R1800. I have a bulk system coming in tomorrow so hopefully it will not be so much of a hassle, as no store within 100 miles of me stocks cartridges.
