I went through my storage room and found 6 older printers but all only go to 8.5 X 11 inches, got to have a "firesale"
I'm thinking of a new 13", either the Epson R1800 or the Canon 9900. Does any one have a defining opinion vs. one over the other? __________________

I think it becomes a personal preference choice between the two and what you believe the benefits / merits of each printer will bring to your work.
Personally, I chose the Epson 1800 and I really, really like that printer. It does not use the K3 inks. I've had no issues with this printer and have owned it for 6 months now. I have printed up to 13X19 regular prints on it and a few panos.... Julio |

As far as I know, When I tried the Canon when it first came out, I had to mostly stick to Canon papers, and papers such as Ilford Gallerie, Konica, Lumajet Museo and other fine art watercolor papers didn't do well. It may have changed since, but the Epson 1800 does very well with non Epson papers plus the individual tanks. Canon had individual tanks at the time and I had a Epson 1280. But the printer that took it for me was the Epson 2400. A little pricey but an excellent b/w software program built in. But if you hold on and wait until about August the newer Canon 9000 series is gonna give Epson a run for the money. Of course these printers will cost a few "pennies". How about 10 individuals cartridges that you don't have to switch out with "profiles galore". Go with the R1800 or newer Canon series.

Plop in PSMAY in the B&H site and you can get the Epson 1800 for $467 this month.
