Default Mpix vs White House

Has anyone used both of these services? Care to share your experience?

Only one experience with MPix. It was a positive one though. Ordered about 9 different 8x10's and 11x14's in both color and B&W and was impressed. Haven't tried the Whitehouse.

Both are really good places, and they compete very well against each other. You shouldn't be concerned using either one.

I know WHCC will send you their specific color profile to calibrate your uploads, and they offer some software to help in the ordering process (mostly used by pros to ease a big "photo shoot" like a wedding). MPix will not color correct your images either, and I believe they need to be in sRGB format for best reults.

MPix has metallic paper, and I don't remember if WHCC does or not. Metallic paper can give some images that distinctive look.

WHCC's prints are sharper and clearer and just pop off the page better. Mpix does a nice job but the pictures seem a bit soft. And WHCC has metalic paper also. Plus WHCC allows your files to be in Adobe RGB and with their profile set up, your prints come out looking like what you see on the screen once you have calibrated your system with their profile.

I've not used MPIX yet because of the service charge. WHCC ships free. WHCC has a min. order of $12. Only one paper type per order.

I like their software. Better than the FTP / HTML Form method (its two steps).

I'll have to look into white house again. I wasn't aware shipping was free. I've been satisfied with mpix, though.

So shipping is free. Is the cost per print the same, or is WHCC cheaper at that too?

8x10 glossy is $2

You can get their price book from their website at http://www.whcc.com/pricing/whcc_2006_pricing_0206.pdf
