I have a Canon Pro 9000 Printer and up until a few weeks ago, I've tried to use the Canon Paper exclusively for my "good" photos (I've tried several others, but didn't like them as well). I'd heard that the Ilford Gallerie Smooth Pearl paper was really good, so I tried it out and couldn't be more pleased with the results. The finish is similar to a satin finish, but, at least in my opinion, much nicer. The colors are great too.
Just wanted to get other opinions on the type of ink jet paper you like best. In the past, I've tried HP and Epson papers, but they didn't look very good (they probably do something in their paper processing to work best with their inks which results in them not looking as good on a Canon printer). The better quality Kodak paper looked pretty good and even the generic Staples looked OK. So far out of all the papers I've tried, the Ilford seems best with the Canon a very close second (at least on my printer). __________________

I always used Canon paper on my Canon printer, but now that I have an HP printer, I use HP paper. The paper is generally designed to work with their ink. Perhaps if you had a color calibration setup for your printer with the other paper brands, it might work better, but I think simpler is better.

I use Red River Paper in Dallas, TX. I've been happy with the quality and service. Each box of paper comes with printer profiles.
