Did you check MPIX? I know they recently started doing framing so you might find something there.

I never considered having a print framed and drop shipped. Generally customers want a frame to accent the decor of a room. I generally suggest they use a local custom framer.

Thanks, guys, Mpix did some recent work for me but this print is a very large custom size, and they don't do those...)

I use smugmug for my printing. I just looked and they do offer the large printing you're looking for.

Here is a link to that page.

I have a smugmug and used them once for printing. The print paper seemed much thinner than what they use at MPIX though and I wasn't totally pleased with the finish on or color outcome. To each's own though, right?

Mikkic,
Try talking to a local custom framer. They could be a very good resource. In my frame shop (in NJ) we do large format printing for our photographer clients. Check out the professional picture framers website for area framers - PPFA Home Page

Thank you, Bart, I did that, and they were not especially...er...'competitive'....
As it turns out, the project has been put on hold by the client after recieving the bid, which was at cost for me...

I have used Redipix.com a few time and they have been awesome. They specialize in custom size prints and mounting. There prices seem very competitive and if you go to the discounts page, you can qualify for an even larger savings. Hope this works out for you!
