Anyone done this or know of anyone that is or was selling canvas to print on?
I was curious as I read somewhere that a vendor was selling canvas and that you could run canvas through the EPSON R1800 and 2400 printers without any ill effects. I saw a canvas print and thought it would be something exciting to be able to offer to someone when having done portraits. Anyone know about this at all? Julio __________________

I don't have the references handy anymore but yeah, there are several canvas products available for use with archival inkjet printers, Epson sells canvas, so does Legion I think. I've heard of a canvas by a company called Breathing Color (I think that's what they're called). Standard canvas may not work well. Most ogf the canvas makers impregnate it with an ink receptive emulsion.
I used Epson for art reproduction, it worked pretty well. I did have trouble with humidity... it would get warpy going through the printer and brush a print head, then the ink would just siphon continuously until you stopped the print and cleaned up. Never printed a photo on it though. Chip |

Yes, you can run canvas paper through not only an R1800 but the 2200, 2400 and the older Epson 1280 printers not to mention the 81/2 x 11 printers. I have also used a canvas paper called "photo Brite" which is no longer manufactured but which I stocked up on before they went out of business. You can also go to an art store, purchase varying canvas art papers which are sized or not. If you size the papers, you can use plain old household starch and let them dry thouroughly and put them through. __________________
