Default All-in-one printer

I'm thinking of replacing my old printer and scanner for an all-in-one printer. I'm not looking for a high quality photo printer, but it should be possible to print a decent A4 picture. I dont print photo's very often, so price of cartridges or speed is not an issue. Ethernet connection would come in handy. NO HP!

Currently I'm thinking about the Canon Pixma MP620 or the Epson PX700W or SX600FW.

Oh, yes, and it should be available somewhere in Europe or better: in the Netherlands....

Any ideas?

Andre

I have the Epson RX580. Inexpensive and all around good printer, scanner, and copier.

I have the Epson Artisan 800. Very good at just what you are looking for. WiFi is super if you have more than one computer to use it with.

I guess that's the Epson Stylus Photo PX800FW here in NL. It looks good but it's a bit over-budget, I'm afraid.
I don't need a fax, so I can save money on that.

[Edit]
I just saw that the PX700FW is the same printer, but without a fax. It's 100 euro's cheaper.

How do the all-in-one printers compare to an Epson R800? If they were good enough I could retire a PowerMac G5, a Canon Scanner and the Epson R800, thus saving space and energy.

Just a thought.

I have the Canon Pixma MP980 all-in-one. It does a wonderful job of printing photos! It also scans negatives and slide and is Wi-fi. Good Luck with your decision.

I also have the Epson Artisan 800. Super quality prints and like Montec said in his post, the WiFi is awesome. I also like the automatic document feeder that not all all-in-one's have, and I also added the optional auto-duplexer which really comes in handy for printing greeting cards as well as text documents.

Mine is an HP. Look for a wireless printer...works great and from any computer on the network, wired or wireless.

I'm taking my time... waiting until the ink cartridges in my current printer are empty...

Meanwhile I decided to buy a Canon instead of an Epson. I read that the Epson spoils ink when it's switched on and off, and because I don't use the printer that often, I will relatively use a lot of ink for those few prints.

...And just when I decided to buy the Canon MP620 I heared it will be replaced by the MP640, with a higher scan resolution, so I'm waiting until it is in the shop.

I'm ignoring the spam post.

The only problem with all in one printers, you can't scan really big things like for example documents or images that are larger than the bed of the scanners, an all purpose flat bed scanner can do that with ease

I have two printers, a Samsung AIO laser that I use for documents and fax/copy/scan. It is great because of the fax to email that saves paper.
My photo printer is an Epson R1900, it just rocks.
