Default Continuous ink flow systems

Hello all, My trusty epson r340 took a dive a few months ago and I just purchased the replacement, an Epson 1400. Now I need to replace my continuous ink system. My old one was made by media street. Since then media street has gone out of the ink and paper business. Does anyone have any suggestions for where to purchase a replacement? let me know. Thanks

Andy

Hi andyb3029,

I belong to a print forum at Inkjet Printer Forum / Ink Jet Refill Forum
theres lots of good info there.

Your 1400 is a dye based printer, correct? If you're going to use 3rd party inks you have the option of using pigment inks. If you choose to do this you'll have to profile your printer-paper-ink.

Since you've already been using CIS you may already be doing that?

I bought some pigment ink just recently from
http://home.eol.ca/~mikling/
This ink is by Image Specialists and the guy will do custom profiles for you up to like ~750 patches.

I have an R220 and an R300 that have both been running CIS for several years. I had a bit of a learning adventure with CIS, buying some cheap crap early on. I finally bit the bullet and bought a system from Ink Cartridges ~ Inkjet Refill Kits ~ Fine Art Paper ~ Pigment Inkjet Ink ~ Laser Toner ~ Bulk Feed Systems ~ CFS ~ CIS ~ Accessories : Inksupply.com. I've never regretted it. The design is simple. The components are good quality. The auto-reset chips have never failed me. If the printer's been idle for a while I print a nozzle check. If it needs it, one cleaning cycle is all I need to get things firing on all cylinders again.
