I just wanted to drop a line to let people here know about my service experience with MPIX.COM. I put in my order online on Friday. I was disappointed that I couldn't combine shipping on two orders. I ordered three of there Metallic Prints in 11 X 14 and three Regular 11 X 14 Prints.
1. Then email confirmation was great. 2. They said they probably wouldn't ship until Monday, which was fine with me. I expected to get them on Thursday or so. I got home yesterday (Monday) and they were already here. ![]() I opened the sturdy boxes that they them in and found that they support them inside the package with another piece of sturdy cardboard. They were also Plastic sealed with appeared that it would have been waterproof in case it rained. The print quality was exceptional. I put in different types of photographs to see what I should expect. They all came back with great color rendition and sharpness. The shipping was $4.95 USD for shipping but it was quite worth it for the peace of mind that they would arrive in great shape. I just thought I would share my experience with the rest of you. __________________

Sounds like a really good online site!
Now are there any Canadians on here that have a comparable site they would like to share? I see that MPIX offers Canadian shipping but $14.95 US is a little steep... |

I have been using them now for two years and have had great results. A couple of times I had some problems with the results, but was able to send them back and get them reprinted at their cost. They have always been very helpful and fast in customer service. THere is a good forum that they hold on their site as well. I would highly recommend them and you can beat the price.

I had a slight water stain on one of the metalic prints from the top to the bottom. I figured this was a good opportunity to see what water will do to them. I took a wet paper towel and wiped the print. It started to get a bit sticky and I thought that's it. I looked at the paper towel and "no ink", nice. I put more water on it to try to finish the job. The greens turned blue and I thought it was ruined. I left it on the table to dry and when I got home from work, it looked just as good as when I first received it. Makes me feel even better ordering from MPIX. Almost like the good old film days.

I've ordered from 4x6 to 20x30 from MPIX and have been extremely satisfied with not only their quality but their packaging and customer service. My only complaint (like the OP) is they treat the two paper types as different orders so you get dinged twice with shipping. I asked them if they could be combined and was told no because of their automated printing & shipping processes.
Only thing I haven't tried yes is to have them color correct my pictures. I always select the option Not to color correct. Anyone use their color correction? if so, how's it look? |

Hello John... Yes, I have used in the past there color correction and for some photos, it looked nice, but others there was either too much yellow or blue which you could really tell and I didn't quite understand how the people monitoring the prints would observe that and fix it before sending out. I did re-send the photos back once approved to do so to get them reprinted, but then only half of them showed back up printed okay and they claim they never received the other half, so I had to re-order the ones they claimed they never received. They were all in the same order and sent back together, etc. After that experience, I never let them color correct my photos and I know that if I ever have to send some prints back to be reprinted, I will always send an email with detailed log of what I am sending and a copy with the shipment. I learned my lesson that time. There were about 100 prints in that order.
Hope this helps, but I hope its not too discouraging. I still use them for all my printing and highly recommend them to others. Michele |

Mpix is owned and operated by Miller's Professional Imaging, one of the most revered labs in the country. I used Miller's during my first 10 years in business, and Miller's still prints all of my competition, salon and convention prints.
Outstanding quality, outstanding people. Unreal delivery times. They have two labs: Pittsburg KS, Columbia MO. MPix prints are shipped from the same Miller's lab that prints all of our pro work. |
