I used a (Spyder) calibrated Viewsonic CRT monitor, Adobe Lightroom 1, an Epson R1800 printer, and my print results were really nice when I tried printing from Lightroom right after I got it, but I prefer to print from Photoshop (CS2), just seems easier to me, and the results are good.
I never really learned how to use Lightroom properly though. Maybe if I take the time to learn it, I'd like it more. John __________________

A colorometer calibrates COLOR not brightness. Now that your monitor is calibrated your printer needs to be calibrated. And keep in mind the calibration for the printer has 3 variables. The printer, the paper and the ink.
