I am trying to print the attached image of a toddler and his guitar. No matter how I format and size the image it still cuts off the top of the head when printing a 4x6. Image is sized at 5.33x4 with a resolution of 113.25; the crop leaves adequate space above the toddler's head.
I print all the time and do have this problem, but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Please advise your comments and suggestions. Thanks. Sorry, forgot to add the image see next post. __________________

Without knowing the application your trying to print from, the type of printer your printing to, and the print driver you are using, I can only offer some things to check. Check your paper size in the application and the print driver, check the orientation in the application page set up and the print driver, check to see if you have options like scale to printable area or something similar selected. These are areas that I would check first.

Thanks Templeinmn. Photoshop. HP Photosmart C6280. Standard Driver.
Paper size is set at 4x6. The orientation is set to Landscape which is same as the picture. Scale to printable area is NOT checked. I'm not sure how to check the print driver Thanks for your help. |

I only have Photoshop 6, so hopefully it is close. I would check File>Print Options and check the preview and check the settings on center image and scale to fit media. Since the image is already 4x6, you could try deselecting this option. Then select page set up from this screen and then click properties and make sure boarderless printing is selected. It maybe a case of how the printer is calibrated and the error is only showing up on this image since it comes close to the edge. My HP printer seems to scale about 1/8" when scaling to fit media, so if I attempt to put a border around the image it does not print uniformly. Since your image size is 4 x 5.33 I would bet that the scale to fit media is the issue.

Thanks Templeinmn! I appreciate your feedback; that may just solve my problem.
