Default What is a good onsite printer?

I have a Canon pro9000, and it prints about 43 pictures in High quality 8x10. I figured I cant rely on this printer if I were to use it onsite. I need it to print more pictures before the ink runs out. I got a CISS system that turned out a mess. I print about 1 picture every 10 mins or less with long lines during this event.

Are there any recommendations to comptiable ink? Should I lower the quality to standard? Get new printer that can print more pictures? What has worked for you?

Dude.

Dye sub is the way to go here. I would recommend the Kodak 1400, 8500, 9810, 68xx series printers.
I have an 8500 and the prints are nothing short of amazing. Also, you know precisely how far your comsumables will go with dye sub as the paper and ribbons are spec'ed for 50 sheet increments.

The prints are also dry and waterproof immediately after coming out of the printer. I even took a picture and placed it underwater with something holding it down for 5 hours and NO fading, residue in the water, etc came to the picture. Try that with inkjet!!
