What is Metallic Paper?

Metallic paper has a metallic surface like Gold/Silver etc.

What is Special Tex 20MM Foamcore?
This is a thick board, essentially two posterboards with foam in the middle. Same stuff people use for presentations.

And what is Lustre?

Is a glossy type of paper, but not as glossy as photo paper, between matte and glossy.

I had a metalic paper printed for me once (from MPIX.com) on a shot I had taken of the San Juan Capistrano.
One old house with a small lily pond in front. In the final print all of the water had a silvery glow almost like Mercury in it. Very nice and my wife made me put it up. Now its Matted, framed and hangin on our dinning room wall.

I wouldn't say its good with everything, but when its needed it adds a nice touch. Try it out from one of the online labs. Cheap, and if you dont like it you haven't really lost anything. Would I go out and buy a box, Nah. I dont think so.

The only thing to me anyway is that only the water looked like the high silver mercury.
here is the shot:

It would be kind of hard to tell, since you would really should have it in front of you to tell.

Joel,

First, thanks for the K.
This is the Print that I had sent to MPIX.com for them to print ON the Metalic paper.

MPIX is a good quality, delivers very fast by UPS Online Printing House. You email them your prints and go.

Your Welcome.

I guess its also where your located as well.

I have also sent test prints to:

El-Co Color Labs. Your professional lab for quality digital and optical printing

Very happy with both Online Labs. Nice prices, very fast delivery and good quality prints. Elco Color is in Jersey so again it depends on where your located.

I dont remember which Lab it was, maybe MPIX but the only thing that bothered me was I also had sent a few prints to be made in B&W and the two groups B&W and Color came separately and I had to pay for shipping for both packages instead of just one package that included both orders. Seems that there might be two separate Labs.

I recommend getting some samples of each, and deciding which ones you want to offer. There is a difference between lustre coat and lustre paper; metallic paper really needs to be seen to appreciated; foam core mounting vs. mat mounted needs to be seen; there are also textures to think about; gallery wraps are nice for larger prints. There are so many options that you really need to be able to see, and show your customers to be able to sell them.
