I have the Epson 2200, and it has been great. I love being able to do everything in house (control freak). And I finally used the roll setting by printing out the Boulder Mountian Panoramic I have posted, 44" long. But I wish I could just go to 48" long, why Epson why?

It's been a while since I have done it but Qimage allows longer than 44". Check it out:

We own the Epson 2000 and 2200, but along the line stopped using them in favor of first the Canon 9000 and now the i9900.

The Canons get much better dark-area detail and better image quality ocross the board. And we calibrate with the GM Eye-one Photo package and the Monaco Optix pro.

And the Epsons are so impossibly slow, I can't stand it when I print with them. The Canons are not only better in image, they are really fast.

The HPs used to have brilliant colors, but not really true colors. That has changed, I hear. But I have no experience with them.

Also, the canon "Photo Paper Pro" is the most exquisite inkjet photo paper i have seen. Absolutely gorgeous. Like a ferrotyped print. I also use Epson paper, with no deteriorization in anything when used with the Canon printer. But the Photo Paper pro is just a tad more exquisite in finish and heft.

Canon !960 with RedRiver Paper (Polar Gloss and Polar Satin) using Cathy's Profiles for each type of paper. I only wish that I had bought a larger format printer to print larger prints...next time

I owned and operated a computer store in Colombia for 6 years and still have a H.P., Epson, 2 Canon, two Lexmark, Olympus Dye sub 400 left over from the store. I use all of them but the one I use most is the Epson so......."Name your printer, I named mine "Clyde".

Phil, you're going to love that r2400. I used one recently, with profiles done w/ Gretag's EyeOne, and fell in love with the thing. I'll be picking one up. It's much improved over the 2200 model.

Just got my printer today, haven't had time to pick a name for it yet. I think it looks like a George, but I haven't decided for sure.

It is an Epson r800 though. I haven't had a chance to set it up and try it out yet, but I'm very excited (probably should go get some paper!) to have it. Mostly I'll be using it to make cards I think, but I got it because of the archival aspect and the ability to print on CD's so that I CAN print out pictures for the families, and can put my logo and a picture of their child on the CD when I give the family a CD with all the pictures from the shoot on it for them to print out whenever they want.

a Canon i9950 (9900 in the USA) with the CD label printing facility which for some reason you don't get over there. I have been delighted with the results up to A3+ size for over a year until just recently - see my post and help me out please!
