Default New Printers?

Anybody get any new printers during the Holidays? If so, what did you get, and do you like it?

Epson r2400 is the best at the moment, I believe.

I don't find an i9950. Just an i9900.

Is the i9950 something new that hasn't reached the US yet?

I find that extremely unlikely. :-\

I believe the 9950 and the 9900 are the same models...just different model numbers between UK and US...I could be wrong though...not like it would be the first time

I'm wanting to get a wide carraige printer soon. Trying to decide between the Canon !9900 and the Epson R2400 or 1800.

I am told if you print B/W you have to stick to Epson I would have but for the price of inks here
About $ 175 for a set for Epson printer I looked at

After years of the Epson 2000 and then 2200, and the canon S9000 and then i9900, I have been sick of Epson printers. The canons were by far the better.

Now, I am somewhat conditioned against the Epsons, since they 2000 and 2200 were awful in shadow and low light area differentiation and slow a s molasses.

otherwise, i don't see the huge differences in ink prices. Unless the Epson cartridges do not last long (which the canon's don't either).

I was talking UK prices . The epson was almost twice as much for a set of inks

I'm still happily printing with an HP 7960. It has didicated grey inks and blows away the Epson 2100 in black and white (IIMHO), and that's what I mainly use it for. Would like to invest (i.e. lose money) on an A3 printer, but currently I use online services for larger prints and don't have any problems with that. I'm not really sure that current printers are going to be noticably better at A4 or smaller.
