Hi, I'm trying to upload my 5 test prints to WHCC. After each time I try, I get a message that says "chris.jpg is not a jpeg file. Please make sure you are uploading a jpeg file and try again" or something like that. What am I doing wrong? Customer service could not help me so i figured i would ask the experts here. thanks in advance

Is it a JPG? Could someone have changed the extension of the file to JPG from something other than JPG?
Also, are they still in the RGB color mode? Sometimes, some programs or scripts will cough up a JPG if it is in CMYK color mode. Lastly, I have heard that Faststone Image Viewer converts to JPG 'different" and it caused issues uploading to Flickr. WHCC may use the same "software" during the upload as Flickr and thus it is the same. If you used Faststone, can you try to resave using something else (PSE, IrfanView, etc) |

Hi mr pickles, They are definately jpegs and I also made sure that they were in the right color mode when i put the 5 photos in a seperate folder. As for the software, I'm not sure about that. They sent me a link to complete my registration. I uploaded each file using their link?? I use CS3 for image editing. They said to make sure that the file extension was jpeg Thank you for help....still trying to figure it out ==Judy |

This is a little late, but I had the same problem when I sent my test files. I had saved them in PS as level 12 jpegs. I resaved them as level 10 and they went up just fine. Go figure.

That jogs my memory, don't they ask for level 10? I think there was a post just about this issue.
thanks, Danny |

I always send mine as level 10 and I have never had a problem.

They require it to be a level 10 JPEG.
