I now pretty much use Lightroom for all my printing, another setup that I hear people struggle with.

I find that Canon's paper/profile combination is very confusing and there is little information to be found. I looked at alternatives and have settled on using Ilford paper (I find their smooth pearl paper to be quite beautiful) and you can download their profiles from their website. They have profiles per paper/per printer, clearly marked, with instructions. I've never looked back and am enjoying my printer even more (just wish the ink was cheaper).

Good luck
Thank you very much Albert for all the information you share! It has helped me understand the printer profile stuff so much better! I also find it amazing how Canon does not clearly labeled and organize there paper/ profiles? Why would they not do that? It's beyond me. I'm currently in the process of Leasing a canon IPF8100 printer, and I plan on using the ilford paper for sure I've heard nothing but great things about it.

I also have had some issues printing from lightroom, and I'm not sure why? I have it set-up the same way as PS, but it just doesn't work the same way for some reason.

Thanks again,
Jay
