We've been testing a bunch of different inkjet photo paper at our studio and so far I'd have to say that Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl Paper is the big winner (at least with our Canon i9900). Just love the way the finish shines in the light. They also have a Smooth Fine Art Paper that is like printing on linen (very cool although the colors changed slightly when printed on this one). We get ours at a high-end photo store in a neighboring town.
I'd be interested in hearing about other specialty inkjet paper that might be worth a try. __________________

I have to agree, I have been using Ilford Smooth Pearl for a few years now with great success with my Epson 2200. Works great with my Canon printers as well. Just have to make sure to use the profile...
I have tried the Fine Art paper they have but still much prefer Epson Velvet Fine Art for the texture. Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 460 is incredible for black and white's if you like matte papers... |

I've been using Ilford with my Epson 2200 for the last few years. It's just a little bit better than the Epson paper itself.
I tried Red River but didn't find it any better than the Epson paper and it was more expensive. Unless I need ink or paper right away, I buy it through B&H when I order other stuff. I find B&H's price just as good as anywhere else and when you add a bunch of stuff together, shipping is cheaper than Atlex. If I need something right away, I have a local photo store that carries a lot of the same stuff and their prices aren't bad. Mike |

I want to try the Ilford Smooth Pearl in my i9900 next. I have been using the Smooth Gloss. If you have a SAMS Wholesale go there, they sell Ilford Galerie 8.5x11 Smooth Gloss 100 sheet box for $24. I bought 3 boxes. Cheapest online price I found was $41. They sometimes getthe smooth pearl in I hear too.

Its strange Ilford smooth pearl worked terrible in my old i9100 [just looked flat] unlike the gloss which was great but I yet to test the smooth pearl in my i9950
