Ok - first, check my postings here - I'm shopping for print companies, I give my work away as charity (to cancer victims, military families, etc.), and try to provide useful information when I can... this is NOT spam (no kickbacks or referrals for me... nothing!) That said, I just HAD to share a recent experience in getting a sample canvas print. Look, I KNOW most will be skeptical. I'm going to post 2 pics of what I ordered & received, 2 links to other forums I've shared this info, and the link to get the free print. Check out the info yourself... every single person who has tried it has been VERY happy!!!
Ok, I know lots of you already get Studio Photography magazine (since its free too!). Anyway, I got an email from them recently, offering a free canvas print from canvasondemand.com Well, they provide a coupon code for an $84 canvas after you sign up - whatever... I gave it a try: WOWOWOWWOWOWOWOWWO I looked at the offer & realized you could order whatever size you wanted, so I chose a 24x36 inch print - INCREDIBLE! It is a huge one of these: ![]() I'll put up a quick snap of the real thing when I get home; trust me, you WILL want one!!!! (i personally will pay the $10 for hardware in the future, but it is NOT a big deal; i just want the convenience) Just can't say enough about how happy I am - so here is the link: canvasondemand.com/studio/ Here's what I got: ![]() Yes, that is MY daughter LOL Now, I CHOSE to pay an additional $20 for a larger (24x36) print - but you DON'T have to - see, the offer is for an $84 CREDIT @ their store, so its a very versatile offer. I've shared this alot - most are skeptical... check these threads & see for yourself, ok? FREE canvas print! - DPChallenge Forums FREE canvas print!!! - FM Forums (Seriously, if the snobs @ FM tried & liked it...) ![]() __________________

You're welcome! I'm getting a lot of
's regarding prints, so I hope this helps someone:I'm using CS2 - so YMMV... After editing (but before cropping!), I simply go to 'help', 'resize image'. (Don't bother with the image resize under the 'image' menu - it doesn't seem to do as well!) This will allow you to set all the parameters in one place, such as: output format (web or print), desired quality (newspaper or museum archive print), etc. It's basically a 'wizard', and has done just fine for me. That said, all of my work has been in RAW format, using Adobe rgb @ 16 bits. Resize as above, crop to output dimensions (remember any borders you may have added!) I apply USM @ 100 / 0.3 / 0, and finally convert to TIFF/JPG. Upload. Order. Wait... Enjoy! Billy |

Never knew that existed. I get the same results using resize, with less steps, though, its cool to know there is a wizard. My only gripe is there is no choice of resampling methods, so I assume it uses the default, described in the Preferences. There is definitely a big difference between the three bicubic methods.

finally uploaded, forgot to apply the code, gave them a call. Real person named Jon picked up an applied the code.
Depending on the results, I've already been impressed by the CS, and definately will use them for printing Wedding shots and so on. |

OH! I managed to find another coupon code, this one for $25 off. Requires your email, but you have to provide that ANYway (to open an account). Also, the offer expires 30 days after you receive the code - but I def. plan to place another order soon! Here's the link:
Canvas On Demand for Photos on Canvas Trent, we'd love to see the product you receive! Mike - I would call them, as I've heard of them honoring the offer... |

They have an ad in Rangefinder, Also Simply Canvas has a promo for $500 when you sign up for a pro account. I did the Canvas on Demand promo also and the quality is great. I ordered the 16X20 gallery, but they upsized it to 20X24 and didn't charge me for it. I'm very pleased with it and their service. I'll be trying to get them so more business with my clients.

Based on information on their site, I assume they produce an ink-jet print on canvas. Does anyone know if all suppliers of canvas prints use this method? Do some use a photosensitive canvas for direct printing?
Cheers/Mike |

Hmmm - maybe if I'm a good boy, Santa will bring me some tickets? LOL I'm about 1/2 way between Chattanooga & Knoxville, so that DOES sound interesting. (Erm, my wife says it isn't likely that I've been THAT well behaved!)
Does anyone have any comments, or photos of the product they've received? Billy Thanks Dan! |
