Using Lightroom, and Canon i9900. Printed 2 8x19 prints beautifully, then the next came out with green faces and bad color.
Did a head clean, then a nozzle check, plus color check; everything is fine. Still have green faces. Did a recalibration on the Color profile, still green. Did a full monitor and color prifile with Spyder II, and used the new prifile, still green. Color looks great in lightroom. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on here or what else I could check? ![]() __________________

That sux!! Did you try printing from photoshop instead?? I know on my Pixma Pro 9000 it has a bunch of settings when I print from photoshop. It wants to know if Photoshop will control the color, or the printer, and I use Adobe 1998 as my profile. I really don't have a full understanding on how profiles work, but my prints look like my monitor so I think I got it set up right
1 Time I had my printer set to sRGB by mistake and the print came out like garbage. Perhaps something like that could have happened? I really have no idea what iy could be, because you tried pretty much everything. Jay |

I don't have Lightroom but I would guess it has something to do with the printers color profile. Which OS are you using? On a Mac you could soft proof the image before printing (via Preview).
Try Photoshop and see if there is any difference. |

Thanks guys for your suggestions. I am beginning to think the problem is not Adobe related but in the printer. I moved a photo to CS3 and printed it just fine. Then went back to Lightroom to try. I printed fine, then on the next couple of photos, the greeen shade began to come back. My guess is nozzle clog[s].
funny thing is, it appears to do afew photos fine, then the off shade begins to show. Need to experiment a little more, will keep in touch. By the way, it appears the profiles are fine. |

Just a thought, is it possible that you are double profiling? I have had that happen with an Epson printer. I used to own bothe the Canon i9900 and the i8500 and never in thousands of print had the problem. However, having seen it once and being old enough to not believe in fairy godmothers, I believe that it will repeat elsewhere, sometime. I also second the recommendation to print from your Adobe software.

I don't think the fault lies with the s/w but rather the printer itself. If the photos have a green tinge then it could be a fault with the purge unit of the printer. Looks like its not sucking the magenta ink out of the cartridge correctly. You mentioned the first few prints are ok so that suggests the ink flow is not continuous.

Been really busy and have not been able to respond here. Please accept my apologies.
I have not been able to review the green tinge coming from my printer. What I did notice with my last print out, is the printer will print one or a few prints well, then the green tint begins to appear and gets worse as I use it. Danster, you may be on to something, as I also think it is the printer, perhaps a clog or something. Tom, no, I am certain it is nothing to do with the profiling. If you think of someting, let me know. As soon as I have time, I will get back to the printer and let you know what I find out. Thanks for your reply. __________________
