Default 8 x 10 Chemical printing paper

Getting ready for another year of Community College instructions and wondering if anyone is using RC variable contrast paper from Foma, Forte, Ilford, Kentmere or Oriental? I have always used Kodak paper and chemicals in our lab but Kodak has decided to stop making B&W printing paper so must go to other supplies. I would like your ideas as to the quality and comparison with Kodak 8x10 RCVC glossy paper. Teacher still teaching the old methods first then digital as a second semester.

I have used Ilford RC paper. While not "identical" it is certainly a close enough match for Kodak RC paper that I cannot imagine you having any difficulties using it in addition to or in replacement of Kodak paper. It works with the same chemistry. I would say that you should just experiment for yourself and see what company produces paper that best suits your needs in a classroom environment. You could be pleasantly surprised and discover a new "favorite" paper.
