Glad you like the iPF series... I mentioned it earlier in this thread.

Are you using the Windows Driver Photoshop Plug -In to send to print?? If you ever need to get a RIP. I highly recommend .. Wasatch Soft RIP. However... for individual one'zies and two'zies... the supplied PS Plug-In...
all that is needed.

I have worked for a few years doing Color Management.. mainly building Media Profiles for wide format / flatbed etc. inkjet printers

The iPF is "the only" printer that I have worked with that didn't need a profile built... Canon has done a great job. This , of corse, is providing you're using a quality media. Canon, Ilford, Hahnamule (sp??) HP etc.

Building a profile for this machine, is a task, as it's a 7 channel profile.. Not the usual 4 channel

Get some Ilford Canvas ( expensive yes.. ) and output an image. Stellar results. I did a direct sunlight test last summer ( 07 ). In the spring I output three small images on this canvas, cut them in half, and placed one half in my desk drawer, and the other on the window sill facing south... for three months... getting direct sunlight for at least 9 hrs per day.. everyday

I swear to you, there was zero fading on the color, and only a slight shift in the white point of the canvas. These inks are awesome. I have seen these go side by side with the top of the line Epson... The D-max on the iPF shone over Epson.

Try a Black and White, on some Ilford Rag... Amazing... Zero green or magenta color cast... ( in a proper viewing light )

You've made a great choice in this purchase...

I'm jealous #B>(
John,

Thanks for your sugestions, i will give them a try.

Dan

Outstanding price . Cheapest I've seen here in the UK for the ipf6100 is around £1800 ($3500). I've seen some online retailers in the US who will ship to England but by the time you factor in shipping (not a small item ), import taxes, after-sales support etc it's not really worth it. I'll just have to wait patiently until they're offloaded for buttons on ebay .

I'm gonna' trade up my Epson 7880 for a 9900 when they come available.
