Default Why Prints are returned?

Ever wonder why prints are returned from "labs"? People think about noise and pixels all the time. Why? The results from 3 million prints at SmugMug (who uses EZ Prints) is interesting....

I found a lot of interesting things following links on the Smugmug site. Under "They're too Red!" we see that Canon's IR filter (which prevents some people from enjoying their IR photo desires) benefits portraits of fair skinned people by playing down blood vessels under the skin and that some (they mention 24-70L) Canon lenses have an anti-IR coating. We also know that some Canon lenses have issues with IR photography even when used on an IR modified body. Putting 2 and 2 together here can be informative. There are other tidbits under other heads but I'll leave them to those of you interested enough to follow the links.

Karma to Mr. Pickles for sharing this one.
