This thing looks cool:
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/P...okies=no&oid=0 Anyone use it? Epson claims better than lab quality prints at the same price or better. __________________

I use the original PictureMate model.* Per-print cost is about 22 cents (from buy.com).
Print quality is great, but be sure that the 'Enhance fine details' box has been checked in the driver.* I've never tried printing with this not checked, but I read (in a review) that you can get some banding without this setting. |

I have had the first model for over a year and now have the deluxe. Great pictures, cheap to print. Less that .29. I really like the new deluxe because of the viewer and the multiple picture ability. When I used the original PicturMate I always used the computer to select and print. Now I easily print directly from my G3 or Pro1. Love the PictureMate. Quality is super.

The PictureMate printers accept 4x6 glossy paper (packaged with ink), so that's the maximum print size.
Print quality is very good, and Epson says they'll last 2 - 4 times longer than conventional lab prints.* I held one under running water for several seconds to see what would happen.* There was no visible change. In my opinion the prints are good enough to use whenever 4x6 glossy is appropriate. On the minus side, the original model of the PictureMate is pretty slow.* The new one is supposed to be faster. |

I have the original. Everything said previous is true. I print from my computer (G5) because I like to download and have a close look at the pictures before printing. I have found that people are very willing to pay me $6 per print
