I can do my own custom color profiles. I'd like to know which papers you use with the Canon i9900. I'm not fond of the Canon Photo Paper Pro. It's too glossy and too expensive.

I have had successful results using Red River Polar Gloss and Polar Satin paers on a Canon i960 (which is similar to your unit)

The Ilford line of papers is wonderful. I use the Classic Pearl a lot. They just don't make anything smaller than 8x10 that I've been able to find locally.

If you want to go cheaper, the Red River paper OHenry mentioned is good stuff. I'd look at getting their printer profiles form their website too.
Never tried Epson paper in a Canon. Too costly for me to try,a nd figure the profile thing would waste about half of whatever I bought. |

The Kodak matte selection ain't bad, but I've never run it through a Canon printer. With our HP-All-In-One (3200 Photosmart) it gives this unique, subdued look to the images. Not nearly as nice as any of the higher-end matte papers, but it was cheap and fun to fiddle with for me.
I hear you on the Canon photo papers though. Absolute crap. |
