I picked up an Epson R220 several months ago, primarily as an everyday text printer. I discovered that it makes a pretty mean 8X10 print, though, so I've been using it for smaller printing instead of my 2000P, which I still use for larger format printing. Last night, I was trying to make a print. Somehow, the printer switched itself to Photo RPM (or something like that) quality. The upshoot being, it seemed to be pouring way too much ink onto the image, to the point where every print was coming out about one stop (educated guess) darker than the monitor image. When I switched it back to regular photo quality, the print and monitor were matched again.
What exactly is the Photo RPM (or whatever) setting? I tried searching the Epson website and just got a very uniformative description of the setting. Nothing about the proper way to use it, how to set the printer differently, or process the image differently, or anything, when using this setting. E-mailed Epson, and haven't heard anything back yet. I thought I'd tap the vast storehouse of knowledge here to see if anyone had an answer. Help!!! Thanks Andrew __________________
