Default An affordable print service (REAL PHOTO)

Hello all,
New to the forum, Ill get an intro posted as soon as I have a block of time, however the pressing issue at the time is:

I am looking for an affordable print service that does true PHOTO, not ink jet, dye sub, etc.... I want REAL photos.

I need them to be affordable, the Local Joe here thinks hes the only one that can do it, I reckon, hes charging $10 per 8x10!

I intend on selling pictures by the sheet after a photo session (nothing big, little guy doing it part time) and I had planned on charging $10 per 8X10.

Located in SW VA, USA.

Kind thanks for your time,
Andrew

Millers or MPIX doesn't do real photos? Their stuff has always been top quality to me.

I have no idea, hence the question... I do not know WHO does real photo prints thus I asked.

Does Millers and MPIX do true photo print, or do they do injet/dyesub/etc??

Thx,
Andrew

If by "Real Photos" you mean darkroom prints, then you need to be shooting film. Digital files are printed via digital printers, ink jet, dye sub, etc.....

I fear, I may have been taken just a little too literal. Digital printer on real photo paper... not an enlarger with a negative.

Looking for real photo print, not injet, color laser or dyesub.

I fear you don't understand photography nor the art of printing.

Real photo paper prints are done in darkroom with a negative and an enlarger. That is how it works. This is how you print on "Real Photo paper" https://aphototeacher.com/2010/02/28...-the-darkroom/

If it is a digital file it will be printed either by injet, color laser or dyesub. Those are your choices.

I think you just want prints that will last a long time, with little to no color fade, and a quality shop will have that. I'd try MPix (which is a sister side to Millers printing). It is large and offers a lot. You can get a few samples from them and try to get one of your images printed multiple times at 8x10 or so to check quality and paper and such.

Is there a Costco in your area? They print on genuine photo paper (Fujicolor Crystal Archive, I believe) from your digital file, without the need for an enlarger or film negative. They also provide online service.

I find their prints quite good.
