Oh, Fran, beautiful. One of my favorites you've ever posted. A little oversharpened, I think, but love every other thing about it.

This is certainly one of the most emotional pictures I have seeing in a long time. The photo convey the feeling of Love. Therefore, is a winner in my humble opinion. I do agree with the previous comment that it seems to be over sharpened. But a winner no matter that.

Love it.

Over sharpened? Not at all.

Every one of those lines tells a story of life. When you reach that age you should be proud of every one of those lines. I know it won't be that long for me and I certainly wouldn't want all my experiences wiped out in whatever post processing is done to me.

Wow, thanks Sis.
I went and put my varilux old man glasses on it and looked and it's very over-sharpened I guess that means I'm old too. Poop.
Note to self-put the glasses on before sharpening.
But I'll print like this to see, I like to over-sharpen before printing.

I agree with the wrinkles.
I'll probably show them a toned down version, but my version of this is accentuating the wrinkles vs hiding them.
We'll see.
Psst....might want to check your glasses too, we're all getting old.Hahahah.

It is indeed over sharpened, I can almost hear her hair crackling!

Don, what makes you think backing off a little on sharpening would wipe out wrinkles (or experiences)? I don't think it would at all - in fact, I remember the softness of my grandmother's face, wrinkles included, and think not so much sharpening here would be more indicative of that same softness, which IMO would be more realistic. I didn't recommend taking out any wrinkles, just not so much sharpening.

Of course, we might just disagree on this, and that's fine too. Interesting discussion of how to process an interesting and emotional image is always good.

Great shot! Oversharpened and all it is still a wonderful photo to be cherished.
