I'd hope C&C is welcome, as you posted it in the C&C forum
My C&C is that your hair? light is completely blown out. The light on the back right side of the subject. Nothing going on for catch lights but that didn't lead to raccoon eyes but a lack of detail in the face and eyes. Maybe the light was too low or too high to get in the eyes? His left check seems blown out and his right check seems to have freckles but for some reason lacks detail so hard to see. Not sure why. The background is cool tho >_< |

I like the concept of this shot, I like the use of lights. There are a few technical things that could be changed to improve this good image. Patrick listed off a few.
What lens did you use for this shot? |

The fill light exposure is under by about 1 stop or so. Had there been proper fill the black shadows under the guitar and under the fingers of his right hand would have detail in them rather than black areas of nothingness. The kicker light is way overexposed and the background light is nearly so. The fingers of his left hand are overexposed, three by the kicker and one by the too broad main light. Flag the main light so as not to encroach onto his fingers.
Thank you that he is not giving us "the finger" ( a "C" cord I believe.) Too many times I see guitarists doing this and photographers shooting it. Expression is so so. I like the composition. Benji |

Is that a real wall paint job? Definitely makes for a nice background!
