Default Waterfront Lunch

After a walk to the waterfront, we stopped in a cafe for lunch. While in there, I tried images with the cam WB set on FLUORESCENT LIGHT SETTING #2. i worked my EV by working with the WHITE PATCH of the GS & VF CARD.

At home, I gave the images a go over in RESTORE OLD PHOTO which gives CONTRAST and SHARPNESS in one click. I also gave them the smallest amount of REMOVE DUST to try to remove a bit of NOISE. I kept the warm tone - it suited the images better than any of the other WB settings. The back wall of my image shows how accurate the settling works in daylight.

You have another interesting study, Norm.

I see you and Anne are wearing coats. We are still having nice weather here, but soon it will be time for coats. I hate to see our mild fall leave us. Cheers, Bill P.

My thanks for the visit and kind words. They are much appreciated.

This is the best idea - we both feel - I have tried so far. Using the GS?VF to set my EV gives me a good chance to see my accuracy of my results in different shades of black, grey and white. Fluorescent Light Settings really do a nice job in bringing out nice colors in an image. Sadly, I never tried this years back.

A double bowl of K, Fruit and Cream for your kind words. I am still being told to spread K around - so I guess I better do it where I can. A Good Evening to all in the East.

The shot of the woman is more interesting but the focus is off for some reason. The shot of the man is too posed for me. The colors are nice but sorta washed out. Still I think you are on the right track, bro!

The images I did in the cafe, were just casual grab tests - not a formal study as such. I do love using the G S & V F to set my exposure E V = as I feel it gives me more accuracy. I also tried manual focus pre set settings on these.

As for the focusing problems - here is one I did - using FLUORESCENT LIGHT #2 auto focus. I do no color correction - to keep the warmth of the lighting from the table lamp - even though the high's are a tad too bright close to the lamp.

OKay Norm, fess up. Were y'all in McDonalds? I think I see the golden arches behind Anne's head.

Interesting study. That seems to work well, matching your EV to the grey scale finder.

We just popped in there for a snack. There is not much we like - but they have breaded chicken in a sourdough bun - which they do quite well.

As for the Gray Scale Match - I love the accuracy I am able to achieve from it.

Have a look in B & W/FOR TIXEON - last pages. They have many examples of the WB's I use along with matching the EV to the Gray Scale Card.
