It is always here, even in times that seem complete darkness. Close your eyes, take a deep breathe and think of all that is good in your life. You may be surprised by how much light surrounds you.

This is an image from all the way back in February that I didn't use. There is indeed a specific reason for my bringing it out now, but it is also a general reminder to us all. We are fortunate to have so much light around us. Don't forget.

I like the lighting. It emphasizes your face and provides the glow that and combined with your words, comes together very well.

Thank you for the comments and concern. I should have clarified that we are fine - on the periferal of a very sad situation.

Kính chào Tom - yes we spoke about this image all those months ago...

In our school, we lost a little girl last week. Nathan's age. It's always difficult to lose someone suddenly, but more so when they are so young. As you can image, it's been difficult for our whole community, with every one of us struggling to come to terms with the situation. We didn't know her parents, but as the girl was in Nathan's grade, we saw her often at school, and her brother is in our karate class. My heart goes out to them all.

I'm sorry to hear that, Athena. I find it to be the hardest thing to have face as an adult. I only hope that time will allow everyone to cope with the difficulty and carry on as best possible.

Your image, the mood it conveys, and the timing is indeed fitting with the reason.

How sad...and a nice reminder that we all ought to pause from the grind of our busy day to day lives and count all the good things we have surrounding us.

Agree with Al re the need for a little separation from the background, but it's a great shot all the same.
btw - my 16 year old knows 2 young people at his school who died in the last 3 weeks - very, very, sad. It must be the hardest thing a family will experience. We've friends who lost a 4 year old some time ago, too. Life can be extremely tough, that's for sure. Prayers & love to all in this situation.
