Just upload them into the gallery here at the Camel and they auto resize them for posting here, or anywhere for that matter

I uploaded them to the gallery here. Do I upload them again to post? I have photoshop 5 but I don't know how to use it yet. That is my next step. I am so new at all of this and right now feel so frustrated. I tried to resize one image on my computer and can't seem to get it back to its original. Please be patient with me. LOL!

Click on your gallery and then under the pic it has medium image code, highlight it, Ctrl C and then Ctrl V to paste it in your post.

Another way to do it is, in your PSE 5, I think it should have (under "File") a "save for web" option. If you click there, you can go to image size and resize it to 660 on the long side, click "apply" then go to Quality and change it to around 80 kb and then save - give it a new name. Then you can come here and after typing your post, click "Go Advanced" and you'll see a "Manage Attachments" to click - go and upload your resized picture, and then click "submit".

About not being able to get your original back, did you save over it with the same name and in the same file after you resized? If you did, you've lost it. Always give your edited photos a new name. In fact, I save my originals in a new file of their own after I've edited, and save the edited ones in a new "Edited" file. Hope I'm not telling you something you already know, I am not meaning to talk down to you if I am...

If [Ctrl] + [C] followed by [Ctrl] + [V] didn't work, are you on a Mac by any chance?

If you are, replace the [Ctrl] above with [Cmd]...

In photoshop 6 the resize function is in the "help" menu (I've never understood that). It could be there in PS 5 also. You can chose not only the dimensions but the resolution to get it down to an acceptable file size.

Thank you to everyone for talking me through this. I'll keep working at it. I did figure out how to resize the images on my camera before I download them. That should help also.

What feature is this? Are you sure you're not permanently affecting the image size? That would affect printing...
