More of my Renaissance Festival portaits. I do hope that you like them.
This is my second year capturing their faces and costumes. I really love it.

Wonderful images. I've been to a few of these fairs and you captured the great mood.

I really like your B&W's of these and all of a sudden you stuck this color shot of the Jousting in. I feel even though the crowd in the background is out of focus for some reason they are still very distracting. I feel that it might be because I was looking at the B&W's for so long but I'm not sure or maybe there too bright.

Thank you very much for sharing thse, there wonderful images for the first thing to see on a very dark and goomy Monday Morning.

Hey Mark. I think that the color jousting pic is a little more saturated than it should be. Also, I apply a LucisArts filter, and that may create some "busy" artifacting in the crowd bokeh, making it more odd looking than it should be. I can mask it, but I didn't take the time. I will probably fix it later on, but your observations are dead on.

A very nice set of images although I don't care too much for the selective colouring on the first one. I can also see what Not4Wood is saying about the background distraction in the jousting scene. For me I think the distraction is contextual in that I'm expecting to see the contemporary dress of the onlookers when I look at the main subject. Not much you can do about that though.

I think these ROCK. I've been to Scarsborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie TX three times and you definitely caught the spirit of this kind of fair. Great job!

I really like the first one of the knight. I couldn't help but think "NONE shall pass..."

Muted the background a tad and smoothed it some.

That edit of the joust is an improvement; the anachronistic qualities are far less evident.
