Default Need help quick

Well as most of you know I ordered my first camera last friday. It is supposed to be here early this friday(in little over a day). If it comes here on time I'm going to take it to my brothers high school graduation. I need quick ideas on what styles and types of shots to take and what settings to use considering it will be my very first time using the camera and this is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. So if anyone could give me quick advise that would be great, Thanks.

if yu are not familiar at all with the camera, I suggest to leave it all on program and not take a chance of loosing an important moment to chance. As you stated, this is a once in a lifetime event. Congrats on the camera! Enjoy!

Is the graduation indoors or out? If outside what time of the day?

What Stacey and Athena said. The camera will know better than you will at this point. Experiment with something less critical.
