She is cool, but for me there is more of a story with him in the photo. I prefer the originals.

Fran, truth is, I kept thinking...why did I not just take a picture of Sarah. Boys come and go, but pictures are forever. So...your suggestion gave me my picture. I just don't think about cropping!

Look at her left foot - looks large - 20 mm not such a good focal length IMHO unless you go especially for such effect.

Sarah looks so glamorous with the big shades (cool reflection of the windows btw) and then I scroll down and see the flip-flops on her feet. Cracks me up! Was that intentional?

I like the setting and all the colors in the first shot.

I was up against the wall, so had very little choice on the focal length. This was in the entry way of the restaurant. I was afraid of the distortion, but knew I would have to live with it.

Not intentional Tom, that is just how Sarah dresses.

Kelly, I just want to comment on Sarah's going to Romania. My son did the same thing several years ago--worked in an orphanage for a couple weeks. Romania is such a POOR country, but the people are amazingly generous with what little they have. It will be a life-changing experience for her.

CB, so are you saying that you like the distraction that Anthony brings to the picture so Sarah isn't the center of attention, the main subject, the focal point, the one who the world revolves around? Is that what your comment is supposed to mean? Is that how I am supposed to take it? And Athena is on your side? So what? A picture of Sarah by herself, contemplating her future as she rides the big duck over the pond to an unknown land isn't compelling enough for you? Well...maybe you are right. But Fran, now Fran is a man of exquisite taste and photographic know how and can recognize how to cull the beauty out of a somewhat average photograph. But I digress.

Okay...Sarah has never been away from home before...not like this. Sure, a week at camp...but not out of reach! I had a dream last night about airplanes being refueled over the ocean. It was scary.

Personally, I love the retro sun glasses and think it too funny when Sarah puts them on.

Actually Kelly, honey... I think the photo says even more about Sarah with him in the photo and her looking outwards, away from him. It speaks volumes. Strong, independent woman volumes. And you know I like that.

Well, I just have to say, Kelly, while I'm with you, and looking at it from a father's eye, I'd like the one of her alone. But, and I know this might be shocking, when in doubt, go with Athena over me-every time.

I'm not sure that her boyfriend would like the story the other ones are spinning.

You know I'd love to go nuts and pull this apart for you and ramble on and make connections that exist almost solely in my head, BD, but in this instance, brevity seems best - and for that I am ill-suited. I will therefore defer any further questions to my attorney, Athena, who has already said it best. And whose summation I quite agree with.

But, let the record show that I completely understand your wanting him out of the photo! Frankly I'm not sure how I'll handle shooting my girls and their significant others.

Fortunately I have several years to mellow between now and then.
