April is bare shoulder month - you knew that, right?
![]() The first image is how it was shot - pretty basic, minimal makeup, no wardrobe, breezy hair, grey background and one gorgeous rose. The second one is the same image with some PS edits recommended by a friend. Would love to hear your thoughts. Which do you prefer? Why? ![]() ![]() click the images to view them larger All comments and suggestions appreciated. ![]() __________________

Number 2. The shades create a more dynamic picture to me, but I also want a bit of a vignette where the background behind your head is just a tad bit lighter than the background surrounding your head. I did a quick edit, but won't post without your permission.
So does this mean we should all post a bare shoulder shot this week? Of ourselves? EEEK! |

I guess I would say #2 but if there was a 3rd choice where the dark background was with the #1 face, I wonder if I'd like that one best of all? I like the sharper detail in your face in #1.

I could go either way on the two options really. If the other one wasn't posted, most would like what you posted and wouldn't know any better. As it is, you'll get a mixed bag of opinions.
Not sure who said to do what tweaks to create #2, and don't want to step on toes or whatever, but I'd say if you put about +8 or so Contrast points on it and half as much Saturation (4 or so) you'd get a bit more jumpy look to the image. But it might be worse....? |

#1 for me definitely. Detail, realism, more natural, and freckles!!!

Number 1 for me as well. I like the natural feel of that shot and brings out that inner beauty we all know is there. What's on the outside speaks for itself! Wow!! Do I love those freckles!!!!!! Country Girl Exposed!!! A fun shoot and they both make me smile!

You know, that's what it is - I can put my finger on it now that others have mentioned it - it's the freckles! They are adorable and so natural. That's why I liked #1's face better! I do love that dark background on 2, though.

#1. The rose is secondary.

In comparison to your other pics I am not too crazy about them both, while I do like the shot on its own, if I hadnt seen your other self portraits.
Out of them two the second one for me, the softness works for this. |

I prefer the skin in #1, I LOVE the freckles and natural skin, but prefer the background in #2.
I am so impressed with your work, you are very creative in your posing, something I really suck at. So I hope you don't mind if I follow you closely to soak up some inspiration! By the way, you are stunning ![]() |
