This particular window is in the Turku castle (built somewhere in the 1200's).. The walls are 2 metres thick, so the midday light that passes through the window is pretty directional.. Gotta love it..
The first is obviously my fiancee, and the second is a portrait of me, that she shot (according to my instructions)..__________________

Excellent images, both.
Myself, I think I would have done the lady as a VERTICAL or close to a SQUAREISH SHAPE style of image. I think it would draw one's attention to her better - as it does in your image. |

I know exactly what you mean, and I have one square crop too.. I just had this image in my mind of having a lot of dead space on the right side and the end result pleased me very much.. But it definately works as a square too.. Thanks for your kind words.. I shall post the suare one later..

Yes, she is definitely a lovely lady. I think on the image of her I would prefer not having the floor included. Actually, how is it that the floor is there? Is she sitting at the top of steps?
The colors in the photo of you are beautiful, and I really like the reflection of the window in your eyes. A great window indeed. ![]() |

Hey, I've been to Turku castle!
Lovely photo of your fiancé, by the way. She looks a lot like my son in law's younger sister. (He's Finnish as well.) |

I want to go to the Castle as well, and use that great light to take some incredible pictures like you did. The second one is really great, the way the light comes in and wraps around. Don't get me wrong, the first one has that stunning model, I just like the light in the second one better.

I have to say that these are awesome, but you must have coached her real well, because the one of you is great!! Nice job.
