Okay, this didn't turn out the way I thought it was gonna... the light changed (shadows moved) while I was doing it... cuz we did "costume" changes between shoots.
It's not quite as clear as I'd originally thought (since things look different on a little LCD screen than they do on a 19" monitor) but here's the end result of todays tea party shoot. __________________

I wonder if the exposure could have been based a bit more on the background and a reflector used on the girls - just to bring in a reasonable brightness - now too bright.
My idea here is - to keep that bright patch in the background from drawing our eyes away from the girls. As it stands, my eye tends to go there due to the brightness of the bg trees. Just an idea. |

A very sweet photo - I love that it's outside.
Just darken the background up a bit in PS - looks like you have enough detail back there to pull it off. ![]() |

I didn't even notice that hot spot back there! I'll see if I can't correct it and re-post the image. My daughter was such a good sport with this... I told her to look to her right (when she was in the middle spot) and pretend like she was looking at someone sitting in that spot. The seat on the camera right, she was pretending like she was daydreaming...
She hasn't seen the pictures all together yet, but I think she's really gonna like the results. (she's so vain, LOL, she's gonna love to have a picture of herself having a tea party with herself. I think I'll print this one out for her teacher too) |

I think this is such a wonderful idea. I don't know if you have Photoshop or not, but you could consider running a Colour Pop action on this and really bringing out the colours of the dresses. Could add a bit of whimsy to it!

I hope you don't mind. But I just ran a quick color pop action on it to bring out the colour in the dresses, grass and plants behind her. I then burned some of the bright highlights in the trees in the background. I also added a light vignette. I'm still learning my way around PS, so I hope I've done it justice
