Here's a picture of my daughter. I tend to like black & whites. Which do you prefer?

Of these two, I like the color one better. The primary reason is the eye area in the B&W one looks over processed. They both look like processing was done and appears the most dramatic around the eyes, but in the color one it looks a bit less.
The B&W one is nice and I can see some liking it better. maybe the thing that grabs me is the black eye liner? I don't know. I keep looking at it and my eyes keep going there and it just doesn't grab me. Make sense? P.S.: She is a very nice looking young lady, and hopefully she will continue to tolerate you taking pictures of her. ![]() |

akrab - The photo was taken outside in the middle of the day (very bright sunlight) against a white fence. Since the fence was so overexposed I was able to easily remove it and leave the background white. The conversion is an action that I picked up from a training CD from Gavin Phillips. His website is Home
Mr Pickles - Yes, her eyes are overprocessed on the black and white. I think I did one too many unsharp masks. There was one done before the resize and another after the resize. My daughter does where a little too much eyeliner in my opinion, but girls will be girls. Thanks for comments! |

The color version has my vote. Yes the liner takes away from the B&W as does the oversharpening. Humph I should talk, haven't gotten around to doing nice portraites, that is next on my agenda. She is a very pretty girl and adorable eyes. I know what you mean about kids after raising 3 girls and 3 boys. Whewwwwwwwwwwww LOL
