I am new to processing photos [portraits] and was wondering if there was some easy processing software out there you could suggest. Can anyone recommend the protraitprofessional advertised here.
Any comments would be much appreciated.

If you're a beginner Elements is probably the way to go. Photoshop has a pretty steep learning curve.

I keep coming back to this and do not know how to answer ..are you new to post processing completely or just not sure of portraits and you are already skilled in post editing, I do not want to come of as if* I'm trying to teach my Grandmother to suck eggs*

So I will give a broad answer guessing at your needs,* if you want to do basic portrait and* skin retouching to get that smooth skin look, bright eyes and teeth that is popular then this can be achieved quite easily in something like Elements 5 with its* tools without the need for a specific additional expensive program as long as you have a basic knowledge of layers.

I have used CS2 and loved it... it was a resource hog though but that may not be an issue for you. I recently downloaded paint.net ( it is free) and have been very pleased with the ease of use and the options available in it.
