Trying out my new muslin backdrop (after a quick iron
). Doing a self portrait made me realise just how difficult it is to pose for pictures. I now have total sympathy for my clients.![]() ![]() Nikon D70 ,Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF 1/60s f/5.6 at 50.0mm iso200 Critique most welcome. BTW I know my nose is crooked! :P ![]() Alex __________________

Good lighting, wish you would look happier
Your hand covers too much of your face. |

Thanks.
Some say I never look happy anyway and would probably like more of my face covered! ![]() |

My guess is that people that know you will immediately recognize the pose as "you." Though it technically isn't one of the "rules" poses, if it portrays you the way you want, then go with it. On the technicals, you did a good job - no speculars on the glasses, well exposed, excellent use aperture to comtrol DOF, nice color in the first, and a great mono conversion.

I didn't noticed your crooked nose until you mentioned it
You'll be surprised on how self-aware some of us are that others wouldn't think about that we worry much about.Great portrait by the way. But how to make yourself smile? Think of the time you just got your camera, opening it and shooting it for the first time ![]() Warmest regards, -Garic __________________
