Jeans: Selective Colors and heavy PP ;-) - PhotoCamel

I'm trying to improve my PP techniques and learn some new stuff. Did some selective color, tons of layers, text cut-out, selective blur.
First tried to have a jeans layer under the cut-out text put did not look nice.

Personally I really like the job you done here . I think the blue is a nice contrast with the rest of the pic.

The fact that the backgroung describes the image is the bit I was trying to get at

Felix I think it works well, especially in an add. You might clone out her boot shadow on her thigh. Good job!

I don't usually go for the "tinted" image, but this works extremely well! Great shot

Felix,

Sorry, I do not like add-shots on graveyards, IMHO shows little respect.

Having said that, the shot, model and postprocesing, including the JEANS lettering, is outstanding.

So keep it going, you are on to something!

...and as always, just *my* €0.02 worth...

well, I can't recall everything (am at work) but in "short".

1. Create a mask around her
2. Duplicated the layer 2 times
3. Desaturated the 1st copy
4. Inverted the selection and erased to history so that the jeans would come back
5. HighPass sharpening, I think at this point
* * (HighPass at 3, Gaussian Blur at 9, Fade GaussianBlur with darken and opacity to 70-80%,
* * *then set the layer properties to hardlight and opacity to 70-80)
6. Created a composite layer on top
7. Inverted the selection again and feathered it
8. Blured the image around her (which was not so well done)
9. New transparent layer and rectangle selection for the transparent box under the letters
10. Painted the rectangle with 100% white and set the opacity to 10 or something the create this t
* * * transparent effect.
11. New transparent layer and added the letters. created a selection around the letters and cut them out
* * * so that the background comes through. Set the properties for the letter layer as inner shadow I think.

I did the selective color before I bought a tablet for PP work and I think the selection around her could be much improved with that. It's rather difficult with the mouse I find.

....mhhh... whether in a museum or not, it remains a tombstone in the image, and there is no 'clue' that it is actually a museum...

IMO, selective color here draws the eye away from the center of interest - which should be the woman, to the dress. I think it and the picture as a whole are well done but the application is questionable.

LittleLew, no problem thanks for your comment ... but why should the dress not be the center of interest?
I wanted to draw the interest to the jeans ... that why the words jeans at the left. So you can say I did it
on purpose.

I think he wants the center of interest to be the jeans. I know he's got a beautiful model, which helps with the ad but I think since he wrote jeans on the left side that, that is what he wants the center of interest to be. IMHO
