I chose F, but as a backup, C is pretty good. Keep in mind that these are before edit, but I look at F as having the best (wrinkle wise) facial features. Heal tool in PS on the smile lines in C, and I'd be torn. I think filling the right side of the frame looks better than the left, also though. I hope these are crops and you didn't chop off the top of her head in camera?

The different expressions would fit different professions, imo. For instance, a would be a good one for say, a personal trainer (expression, clothes) while c or f would be more of a 'formal' profession portrait. So, what's the profession?
![]() If I have to choose one I like best, I'd pick b. She just looks very self-confident there and I don't mind the hair over the eye a little. |

That's my 3yr. Harry Potter has the cloak of invisibility, my darling has the box of invisibility. I asked her not to play around that area and she thought I couldn't see her if she wore the box. "I'm sneaking, don't look". Kids are a riot. I thought it was hilarious too, Quote:

Chose b in the end.
A. Reminds me of an EHarmony shot. Not meaning bad, just fun, happy type of shot. B. Like the pose. The hair looks natural. Overall best to me. C. Not a bad shot just don't quite like the head position. D. Too straight on and hair looks a little frizzled E. The I've had enough fake smile and frizzled hair shot. F. Here's the one that really got me. When I first looked at all the shots initially this was my pick. I liked the color of the top and the expression. Problem is the longer I looked these over I couldn't help but notice the illusion of this one looking like a cut out face placed onto another pic. I know this isn't the case and I know it has to be the shallow DoF but now I can't see it without having that feeling. ( yes I looked at these that long. Knew you wanted some real feedback and just want to help. Obviously I'm not a pro.) Hope I helped. |

Thanks for critique. I agree with u on F. At first we liked it but now not so much now. I do love the pop of color.

I'm in agreement with Sailor Blue on this series. I'd also add that the bare shoulders in a,b, and f do not strike me as 'professional' as strongly as the white blouse in c. |

Please don't be offended, but where's the option to vote for g) none of the above?
I like all of these shots on their own. The first question that came to mind when I saw that this was for LinkedIn was about her profession - since RainLily beat me to the question I figured I'd wait to see the answer. For me the bare shoulders in the top three (a,b,f) are inappropriate for a Director of Technology, as another poster pointed out (particularly with the hint of bra strap in a and b, though you could probably clone that out). I prefer a 3/4 angle to being square to the camera for this kind of shot, so that rules out d and e and leaves us with c, but that's probably my least favorite of her expressions. Also, the white shirt on the gray background doesn't give the shot overall the same pop as, say, the pink top gives to shot f. I don't know what else you got from this shoot, but if I were to put together a composite with elements of each of these my ideal version would include: -3/4 body orientation -a shoulder-covering shirt with color -an expression close to f...this seems the most serious and professional (no, not serious...focused) which is appropriate for her profession Just my opinion, obviously the client's wishes take precedence. |

If it is for Linked in then I would go with F. This is the image that most connected with me. It made her look authoritative yet friendly and approachable the fact that it has a drastically different crop and perspective plays into that sense.
