My first quick go

Hi All following are a couple of quick shots of my kids. The older one behind rose bush looks boofy, but that was because he hadnt done his hair. Just grabbed him when he came back from freinds.
Anyway C&C please.

I feel to be able to tell if I am taking a good shot, I need to understand what is a good shot. So all help from anyone will help me understand.

With the sun in their backs and fill-in flash their eyes would've been open instead of 'squeezed', bobby. A proper bounce card can diffuse the flashgun's point-source and so soften shadow edges: http://www.photocamel.com/index.php/topic,13980.0.html.

I understand what you are saying, I am just watching the bounce card to understand what your talking about. As for my littlest son in the first pic he is sitting on the fence looking away from the sun and he is just squinting from laughing, as does his dad...lol.
