Had a new challenge and a lot of fun shooting with this young lady. She wants to dance professionally and needed to start a portfolio to present.
I was impressed with her athleticism and the difficulty of the jumps she was able do. ![]() __________________

I like the fact you caught her at the peak of the jump. Wow. How did that gray seamless paper do after the landing?

Thanks Wolf and thank you for the "K"! She was able to do this 5 or 6 times in a row without hardly working up a sweat. I got tired just watching. ![]() |

Good timing and great photo. My wife is a dancer (well with 2 kids now I guess it's use to be) so I know how hard that can be.
Two things that I would do....there are 4 "bubbles" I guess you could call them in the curve in the seamless by the floor that I would clone out. Also I would try shooting at a lower angle that way you do not get the floor in the shot as much and it would have more of an "in the air" look, even if that means not being able to use the seamless and finding a natural environment. |

I'm doing better then I expected... today has been a bit of a respite from constant pain and it's such a beautiful spring day.. nice to have a little 'break' from things before life gets crazy again . Somedays are really hard, other days are inbetween.. been a while since I've had this nice of one though . 2.5 weeks till my 'due date' will see when baby decides the birth 'day' will be!Oh and back to your picture.. personally I like having the floor in there as you can see her shadow and realize how very high she really did jump ! |

I appreciate your comments. I agree I should have touched up that seamless a little before I considered this shot finished. Now that you pointed those out they are going to drive me crazy. Looks Iike I have some editing to do tonight. I see where you are coming from on the different background and will give that some thought. On this one though I really wanted the shadow on the floor. In fact, I wish the paper had been wider so I could have gotten more of it. I may reshoot this idea another time and see what I can do. Thank you Joel! I will take a look at the other shots and maybe post some more. Quote:
I agree with you on my picture. I wanted to show the height of her leap in the shot. I think it would be cool to shoot from a lower angle to make it look even higher if I had a taller background. As it was when I shot from a lower angle you could see the top of the background and I didn't want to edit that in. Talk to you soon! |
